Campaign management in the SEVIO manual dialer
Contents:
Information on working with contacts in the manual dialer can be found here.
1. Creating a new campaign
To create a new campaign, we first go to the Manual dialer module and click the Create new campaign button.
As the campaign name we enter, say, First campaign, and as the key we use an abbreviation made from the first letters of the campaign name, i.e. FC.
The key will help us identify which campaign contacts come from during further data processing. When we are done, we press the Save new campaign button.
2. Starting and stopping a campaign
To start a campaign, we click the green "Start campaign" icon next to the campaign name in the right-hand column of the campaign list and confirm the choice. The campaign starts immediately and is moved from the right column to the left one.
To stop a campaign, we click the red "End campaign" icon next to the campaign in the left column and confirm the choice again. The campaign stops immediately and is moved to the right column.
A stopped campaign is automatically switched to the "Ended" status. To change its status to a different one, we click the "Edit campaign" button and select one of the offered options in the "Status" field of the campaign edit form. Then we click the "Save campaign changes" button. The campaign is immediately switched to the new status.
Tip: A campaign can be started/stopped by clicking the green/red button to the left of the campaign name in the campaign list of the Manual dialer module.
3. Cloning a campaign
We first go to the Manual dialer module, find the campaign we want to clone and press its "Edit campaign" button. In the campaign edit form, we click the "Campaign" tab and select the "Campaign cloning" item.
The campaign cloning form appears. In the "Source campaign" field we see the name of the campaign we selected for cloning. This is our data source.
In the "New campaign name" field we enter "First cloned campaign" and as the key we use an abbreviation made from the first letters of the campaign name, i.e. FCC.
When cloning a campaign, we can also copy the questions from the source campaign. We do this by ticking the "Copy questions too" checkbox at the bottom of the form.
When we are done, we press the "Clone" button. We answer yes to the question of whether we really want to clone the campaign and close the information window confirming that the campaign was cloned successfully.
4. Backing up a campaign
We first clone the campaign including the questions, then copy the contacts and answers, and finally the blocked numbers.
So we go to edit the campaign we have decided to back up. In the Campaign tab we select the "Campaign cloning" item. We clone the campaign with a new name and key, not forgetting to copy the questions too. For our new campaign we chose the name "Backup 1" and the key "B1".
The freshly cloned campaign does not yet appear in the list of source or target campaigns. We therefore refresh the campaign edit page using the "Edit" button.
Now we copy the contacts including the answers to the questions. In the "Contacts" tab we select the "Copy campaign contacts" option. In the contact copying dialog we select our target campaign, tick the "Copy answers too" checkbox and press the "Copy" button.
Finally, we copy the campaign's blocked numbers. In the "Blocked numbers" tab we select the "Blocked numbers copying" option. In the dialog we then select our target campaign and press the "Copy" button.
Our backed-up campaign, an identical copy of the original one, can be found in the manual dialer campaign list.
